A common mistake is pouring cooking oil into the container and then adding the food. This will result in the bottom of the food being soggy and greasy while the top is somewhat fried. The solution is to spritz the food with cooking oil, especially with a sprayer. Another mistake is pouring liquid cooking oil onto food in an open basket. Now the oil drips off the food and down to the heating element where it burns. This can create a fire hazard. Don’t use heavy liquid fats when lighter cooking oils or melted butter could be used instead.
